My first foray to the Lakes was at age 15 on a geography field trip. What I don’t know about U-shaped flat-floored valleys isn’t worth bothering about. I’ve loved the place ever since.

You have captured God’s county wonderfully here Roland. Did you ever get to Ennerdale Water? It is the most westerly of the waters and my favourite.

Ennerdale is worth a visit Roland. It is one of the lesser known areas but the most beautiful, in my opinion.
