TODAY
The past is a bygone world;
Tomorrow still does not exist.
Life is about our today,
When thoughts of all else are dismissed.
What’s happening now is what matters;
Don’t let what has passed hold sway.
The future will care for itself,
What’s important is living today.
For today is our life in a nutshell,
So spend no more time in the past.
Let the future look after itself,
Let today be the one that will last.
A wonderful, wonderful piece, an important yet oft overlooked message within a celebration of life, your timing is uncanny for me, you’ve lifted my spirits this morning Roland and I thank you.

What a wonderfully positive poem Roland. It is the truth that too often gets
overlooked. It is a vital truth for our wellbeing and happiness.
I believe so much in this and try each day, take myself to task when thoughts
start spinning.
Your poem flows like a song.
Thank you for sharing this

A beautiful and poignant piece of poetry Roland. Have you read any of Eckhart Tolle’s books, which capture the power of Now? As you have eloquently stated in your poem, too often we look into the past and future and forget the moment we are in is the only moment we have.

It’s not a book I know, Davy, although I can see it is one I should read. Many thanks for commenting.

Such wonderful truth and emotion in your poem, Roland!
I try to focus on that every morning…to live today, savor every moment and every joy of today.
Tomorrow will be there when I get to it. 🙂
Your watercolor is stunning! I love the colors!
