SNOWFLAKE NEWS
Yes,
perhaps it was a mistake,
But, Oh,
For heaven’s sake,
Did you never fake
An ache
That kept you wide awake
Until you just had to take
A break …
Generation Snowflake.

This made me laugh Roland. This could have constituted a standard sick note back in the day. I bet you saw some belters in your time as a teacher?

I do remember one ‘sick note’ I had as a teacher from a pupil’s mum which said “Please excuse James from doing PE today as he has had diarrhoea through a hole in his shoe”. (I presume she meant to include the word ‘having’ after ‘through’. Thanks for commenting Davy.

HA! I snort-laughed! 😀
I am NOT of the Snowflake Generation…
but one time, eons ago, when I was in 9th grade, it snowed…and we rarely got snow…so half of the kids in the school stayed home. The principal came on the intercom and said, “Half of the students showed up today. And of the half that came to school half of them are on the football field playing in the snow and won’t come inside. So, school is cancelled today.” Ha! I not only showed up to school, that day, but I was, also, in my classroom where I was supposed to be. I guess was a goody-goody kid/student. 😀 So, my siblings and I walked home and played in the snow in our backyard.
HUGS!!! 🙂
