September’s Promise: Two Haiku
September tells me
As its green leaves turn to gold
Spring will come again
The greens of Summer
Give way to Autumn’s bright golds
Promising the Spring

Stay and drink the wine
Culled from the fruits of autumn
Nature’s piquant gift

A whisper is heard
In the silence of the wood
The world is not still
As autumn leaves gently fall
Carpeting the forest floor
