TATT

Feeling exhausted is so common that it has its own acronym, TATT,
which stands for “tired all the time”.

Tired All The Time,
That’s me, it is, you see.
You’ve got it, Summed me up,
Down to that final T.

Why am I so idle,
Indolent and lazy?
It’s as though I am half-drugged,
Bush-whacked, spent, stir-crazy.

Is it just a phase,
Or am I going barmy?
Am I on the way out?
I know I’m full of blarney.

One moment I am drooping,
The next I’m sleeping soundly.
Either I’m wide awake,
Or else I’m snoring loudly.

Do you think that I
Should be on medication?
Do you think the weed
Would bring me consolation?

Maybe my malaise
Is entirely symptomatic?
I suspect it’s just my age
Makes me so problematic.

Tooty Fruity & The Imbroglio

The IMBROGLIO

I’m embroiled in an imbroglio,
And, Yes, I am confused.
Which way to turn I do not know,
Perplexed, baffled, bemused.

She’s says that she will live with me,
See to all my needs,
If I will gift my house to her,
The pool, the grounds, the deeds.

I think she’s asking far too much,
And yet she’s such a sweetie.
I’d like to give her what she wants,
Listen to her entreaty.

Perhaps I’m just an aged fool,
Smitten by her beauty,
But should I take a chance and swap
My world for Tooty Fruity?

Maths Limerick

[  # 79 of My Favourite Short Poems  ]

On a slightly different tack to my usual Monday poetic offering, here is a limerick which you may have come across before, but which I think is worth giving some thought to.  As far as I know, it has to be attributed to ‘Anonymous’, but I would welcome anyone who might be able to throw more light on who it was who devised this extremely clever verse.  It is as follows:

A dozen, a gross, and a score

Plus three times the square root of four

Divided by seven

Plus five times eleven

Is nine squared and not a bit more.

Put in terms of a regular mathematical equation, this would appear as follows:
